One of the best * features of all will be that you'll be enjoying it at the most exciting time of year in the North, when spring is springing. You can see it happening, really — you can actually take measurements at the. end of a day, and ~ affirm that vines are railer than they were at breakfast time. “There’s an energy in the _ North, a thrust, an excice- oment Because of the retease from winter's grip. It’s just plain exhilarating. You have to be careful, you could get yourself into ali kinds of lovely fun. It’s the Western Railway folks who do this tour of the system twice a year, fall and springtime. We've been twice on the fall tour, and it has its own charm, but it’s the springtime in that country that I long to experience once more. In order to make the trip viable, they must have 105 bodies aboard. { would guess that for those people who have spent their winter in some warmer climate, Acapulco, Florida, Arizona or whatever, that they are holidayed out, so to speak, and are bent on picking up home life again. But for those of us who’ve been here, sharing a pretty forgiving sort of win- tertime, it’s lovely to think of an invigorating change. Come with me. The journey is done with your comfort in mind — the only meal you have on your lap or in your hand is lunch. The others, breakfast and dinner, are enjoyed sitting down in a hotel restaurant. We're off the train every night, you see, and into a hotel, so that you don’t have gird your loins for climb- ing Pinto the top bunk, or swaying down the aisle clutching your toothbrush. And the GST, as well as your nights’ accommodations, almost all your meals and entertainment are included in your overall sicket price. For instance, if you go north by bus you get the chance to go into Barkerville, and from there to Prince George for the night. Next day you would go on to see the dams at Hudson’s Hope and also the Peace Canyon. You stay in Fort St. Jchn and then head for Fort Nelson over the Alaska Highway. It’s all wonderful aston- ishing country, and of course next year you can take the other option and do the train both ways. Heck, either way, vou can’t gG wrong. Please Discuss Your Decision with your Family transplants than ever before. Last year 193 people received life- saving or life-enhancing transplants - an additional 16 persons than received transplants in 1995. Despite this encouraging news, more than 330 Britistt Columbians are on waiting lists due to a short- age of organs for transplant. The waiting times vary from several months to several years and tragically some of these people will die waiting. Approximately one of every three organs that could be available for transplantation are lost because family members do not know the wishes of their loved one and must struggle with this difficult decision. Please ensure that your wishes are honoured by communicating your decision regarding organ donation to your family. This alone could mean the difference between life and death for the many British Columbians on the waiting list. A short conversation with your family today could save a life.
