TRUDY MOORE of the Vancouver Natural History Society was one of several volunteers who formed
a work crew to plant trees at Maplewood Fiats conservation area. Ash, maple, oak, elm, cascara, pine,
larch and red cedar were planted! in the area to create a habitat for wild birds and mammals. The con-
servation area, which was dedicated in '$1 by the District of North Vancouver and the Vancouver Port
Corporation, are located on the waterfront 1.5 miles east of the Second Narrows Bridge in North
