24 - Wednesday, October 16, 1991 - North Shore News Bringing art back to the communi ® ECAUSE ART is their whole world, Barry and dd and pleasure. “Our philosophy is, we live for and by art,” says Barry Shelton, explaining that before their car broke down, he and Monica used to drive around West Vancouver with a licence piate that read, “LVE ART,” which stood for “We live art, we love art.” The Sheltons are so committed to their art they even sleep with it. The happy couple say good night in a cubicle that was bathed in sunlight the morning of our in- terview, {sur simple white wails covered with their own art and a bed plunked right in the middle of the room. Barry and Monica Shelton have been living for and by art for nearly 20 years now. After all of that time one might suspect they’ve become two parts of the same artistic iden- tity, but they haven’t.
