As You Like it
comes to N. Van

IMPULSE THEATRE brings a
post-modern production of
Shakespeare’s comedy As You
Like It to North Vancouver’s Ann
MacDonaid Hall.

The play is directed by well-
known Vancouver actor Simon
Webb, and the cast is made up of
mainly young people aged 15 to
18

Two local actors, Bronwen
Smith as Rosalind, and Jason
Rody in the double role of Charles
the wrestler and Silvius, are among
the cast of 14 drawn from Lower
Mainland secondary schools.

The play recently enjoyed a suc-
cessful 10-day run at Kits House in
Vancouver.

As You Like It opens Saturday,
Sept. 9 at 7:30 at Ann MacDonald
Hall at Presentation House, 333
Chesterfield Ave., North Van-
couver. Two perforinances will be
held on Sunday, Sept. 10 at 10
a.m. and 2 p.m.

A KITE Flying Contest is among
the many events planned for this
year’s Coho Festival.

Sponsored by the Howe Sound
Lions Club, this free event will
take place at 1:30 p.m., Sunday,
Sept. 10, at Ambleside Park, with
judging to follow at 2 p.m.

All participants will be presented
with a ribbon and a number of
kites will also be given away, along
with flying instructions.

First prize ribbons and $25 cash
prizes will be awarded in the fol-
lowing categories: best homemade
flying kite, most unique flying
kite, largest flying kite, most col-
orful flying kite, best stunt kite
flyer and smallest kitc.
