expressive capabilities, early elec-
tronic keyboards were little more
than toys. As instruments, they
were lacking.

But not anymore — the world of
electronic keyboard - instruments
has changed radically over the past
few years, now putting a host of
new capabilities at enthusiasts’
fingertips.

Today, instruments such as
digitial pianos have won the
respect of educators and perfor-
mers alike, taking a prominent
place in schools and homes as well
as on the concert stage.

With a strong commitment to
ongoing research and develop-
ment, manufacturers have put all
their efforts into finding the best

method to electronically reproduce

the sound. and feel of a concert
grand piano.

way, many extra features can be
added to an existing keyboard, and
all will work in harmony with one

can have added to it a memory box
that records and plays back
whatever is played on the instru-.
ment.

A soundbox containing or-
chestral sounds can also be added,
allowing the player to record each
part of a woodwind quartet sepa-
rately and hear it played back in
