NORTH SHORE Family Services Society is once
again conducting its group Talking it Out - Alter-
natives to Violence.

The group begins on Tuesday, Sept. 30, meeting at
#303 - 126 East 15th Street, North Vancouver.

The fee is $25 assessment fee, $120 course fee.
Subsidies available.

The course is for men who threaten or use physical
or emotional violence with their intimate partners.

Since this behavior is learned and under the control of
the person doing it, constructive alternatives to vio-
lence can be found. While violence relieves tensions
immediately, it is not a solution to long standing pro-
blems.

The vroup will encourage men to take responsibility
for the violence, learn to identify their triggers and use
anger and other feelings responsibly.

Little Theatre calls
for lords and ladies

WEST VANCOUVER Little
Theatre is looking for fords and
ladies of all ages to take part in
their Christmas production of
Young Arthur.

The play tells the story of a
young boy who dreams of becom-
ing a knight and his determination
to reach his goals. It is filled with
acts of courage, bravery and dazzi-
ing swordfights.

Auditions for Young Arthur will
take place on Wednesday, October
1 at 7 p.m. and Sunday, Oct. 5 at 2
p.m. at Klee Wyck, 200 Keith Rd.,
West Vancouver.

Performances will begin in early
December at various locations on
the North Shore.

A RAILWAY excursion will be
operated from North Vancouver to
Kelly Lake in B.C.’s Cariboo on
Saturday, Sept. 27.

The trip is run by the West
Coast Railway Association, a
non-profit group of railway en-
thusiasts who have been operating
excursions for the general public
