Gaetan Boucher begins new career

with Dairy Bureau

THE DAIRY Bureau of
Canada, which represents
Canada’s $0,000 dairy pro-
ducers, announced it has
teamed up with Gaetan
Boucher, Olympic gold speed
skating medallist and world
sprint champion, under a
five-year agreement.

Boucher will function as a
public relations attache for
the Bureau, making good use
of his studies in administra-
tion and marketing.

Claude Chevalier, presi-
dent and chief executive of-
ticer of the Dairy Bureau of
Canada, told a press con-
ference this arrangement will
allow Gaetan Boucher to
continue his career as an
amateur athlete, while also
achieving longer-term  per-
sonal goals.

This agreement ts in accor-
dance with the regulations of
the International Olympic
Committee, the Canadian
Olympic Association, the
International Skating Union
and the Canadian Speed
Skating Association.

good health, nutrition and
physical fitness.

Asked to explain his deci-
sion to join the Dairy
Bureau, he said the organi-
zation had offered him work
in a field which interested
him and gave him, in addi-
tion, the possibility of doing
something useful for Cana-
dian olympic athletes and the
Canadian population in
general.

A triple medallist in
skating at the Wintér Olym-
pics in Sarajevo, who became
world sprint champion two
weeks later, Gaetan Boucher
has stunned the world with
his outstanding achieve-
ments. Recognized as a na-
tional hero upon his return
home, he was recently named
an Officer of the Order of
Canada.

All members of the board
of the Dairy Bureau, rep-
resenting the various regions
of Canada, including Chair-
man Ralph Jespersen from
Alberta, attended the press
conference, held as part of
the Bureau's annual meeting.

The Dairy Bureau
represents almost all dairy
producers across Canada
One of its goals is to promote
a healthy diet by reminding
people that dairy products
are essential to oa well
balanced diet
