One of Kennedy's former students, now chef on West Vancouver multi-millionaire Jim Pattison's yacht, sustained a knee injury and a replace- ment was needed quickly, A very important passenger was set to sail on the Nova Spirit none other than former U.S. President George Bush. Bush, en route to the Republican National Conven- tion in San Diego, took a detour to Kennedy River for a fishing trip during the first week of August with Pattison.
