THE Elections Canada Web site now gives elec-
tors the opportunity to instantly determine the
name of their electoral district based on their
postal code.

This new search option is featured on Elections Canada’s
home page (wwwielections.ca). Entering a postal code in the
window provided for that purpose, then clicking “Go”, leads to
the information available on the corresponding electoral district.

This includes the address and telephone number for the

- office of the recurning officer, the list of confirmed candidates
and the results of the previous election in the electoral district.

Electoral district search by postal code is an addition to the
search options that were already offered: with maps, with the
full or partial name of tie electoral district or of a candidate run-
ning in the electoral district, or with the lists of electoral districts
in cach province or territory.

In exceptional cases, a given postal code can cross over Wo
or even three electoral districts.

To determine the electoral district a specific address belongs
to, voters can then consult the maps of cach ciectoral district,
contact the office of their returning officer, or call Elections
Canada’s Enquiries Unit at 1 800 INFO. VOTE (1 808 463-
6868).
