Drive on July 11.

Police said the robber
passed a note to a teller
demanding, monev. He stat-

The robber leaned over

money from the teller and
fled, according to the North
Jancouver RCMP.

The holdup took place at

Robber convicted

A second man has been convicted in connection
with the April 18 armed robbery of the Canada
‘Trust in central Lonsdale.

Shayne Douglas Paul, 27, of North Vancouver, received nwo
vears in jail for the robbery during, sentencing proceedings on july
14 in North Vancouver provincial court.

On May 25, Paul's co-accused Randy Alan Wanck, 29, of no
fixed address was jailed for four years for the Canada ‘Trust robbery
and an April 17 robbery of the 7-Eleven: store at 29th and
Lonsdale.

Vanek, who was raised in North Vancouver, robbed a Canada

Trust teller at 1860 Lonsdale Ave. while Paul stood az the deor.
Both robbers were armed with knives.

Dunng the 7-Eleven robbery, Wanek, alone, brandished a
machete.

Wancek was jailed for fc
court Judge Doug Moss.

Wanck has an extensive cnminal record.

A litle more than a year ago in March 1999, another North
Vancouver judge, Jerome Paradis jailed Wanek for three years.

Wanek, a heroin addict, was convicted of four North Shore
burglan s that occurred in February and March of 1999. Ten

ary-related charges were dropped.

‘Two years betore that, Judge Moss jailed Wanek for 18 months
for a house burglary on East Keith Road on March 18, 1997. At
the time of the crime, Wanek had been out of jail for one week.
