Lid. THIS FALL, accessories continue to play an important fashion role. The bows that were seen on everything from shoes and dresses to hair accessories earlier this year created an innovative approach to hair styling that will carry into the all. Colorful ties and ribbons, abstract clips, flamboyant hats and hair extensions and pieces will cap- ture the attention of many this season and shift the focus to the head. These expressive pieces, when used in conjunction with the newest hairstyle, complete the fashion look for fall '87. Wild, curly, long and red or short, straight and highlighted are the two most popular hairstyles shown this season. To complement the feminine focus in fashion, long hair is gently waved with natural- styling perm and worn loose, or ELECTRICE tied up or down, Contrasting with this soft style is the adventurous and unkept look. With the use of gel, sculptured styles take on a harder, more defined, look. Using natu- ral-styling mousse and gel, an un- tamed style is easily formed and when creatively accessorized, takes on a new, unconventional dimen- sion. And for the young, avant-garde female, short cropped hair bleach- ed to the palest shade of yellow creates a dramatic look that. will turn heads. Making a bold fashion statement in both long and short hair are strong color tints of copper reds and violets, or duo-tone highlights of copper and gold blonde, or deep red and violet. As the fight reflects off the various shades of hair, an image of suspense, intrigue or romance is created.
