Sunday, then a visit to San

Saturday at home against the

In fact we're pretty busy
even after that with the
Manic on May 12 then away
to Edmonton on May 16° So
there's not too much rest
scheduled between games

While that type of
schedule looks pretty rough
on paper, most of the lads
like it We all prefer to be
playing rather than long gaps
between games

As Jong as we can stay
away from serious injury
the two games a week
schedule shouldnt hurt us at

schedule is not the games,
but the travel.

North America has to be
the most difficult place to
schedule sporting events. It’s
just too big.

Once the travelling starts,
it seems that we're always
getting on or off planes and
checking in or out of hotels.
At first, and especially for
the younger players, all this
travel is pretty exciting, but
after a while it becomes
routine and eventually quite
tiring because of the
distances and the time zones
involved.

Even though we adjust to
it, the body often has trouble
with all the {me zones and
thrown schedules for regular
meals, exercise and
relaxation.

And while on the subject
of travelling, I should point
out that the Vancouver
Canucks find the travelling
rough and with more than 40
games on the road, it’s a
wonder that they all end up
back at the same place at the
same me

All the dads on the
Whitecaps are pulling for the
Canucks to go all the way
this year. They certainly
deserve it

Mind you, we're all pulling
for ourselves to do the same
thing While a few fans
seem to think we're in
trouble. | remind them that a
season was never decided

after the first couple of
weeks

around now and | think that
by the middle of May you
should see us ing a pretty
good spot

during the pre-game in-
