It can be used for
books, or as a gym bag.

Materials

one medium sized tote
bag, any color

5 or 6 paints in cotors
of your choice
stencils, or make your
own using mylar (clear
plastic)

paper towels

stencil brush

masking tape

First, decide how you
want your design to

look. Experiment with
placing the stencil on dif-
ferent parts of the bag.

When you've deci
on a design, place che sten-
cil on the tote and hold it
in place with tape.

Dip the stencil brush
into the paint and chen tap
it on the paper towel to
remove the extra paint.

Now you're ready to
paint on the bag. Use a
very light touch and tap
the paint in the design
area. A light touch looks
nice because it gives
dimension to your work.

Use different colors and
have fun!

Let the paint dry for
two days, then the bag is
ready to be used.
