Murder hearing

A MAN convicted of being a dangerous offender cartier
this year in North Vancouver provincia) court was sched-
uled to appzar in 2 Toronto court Thursday to face two
counts of first-depree murder.

David Alexander Snow, 38, was found to be a danger-
ous offender by North Vancouver provincial court Judge
Jerome Paradis after he w2s convicted of a string of
ebarges that included sexual assault causing bodily harm,
armed robbery, attempting to choke another persen and
confinement zgainst will. :

The conviction resulted from the abduction of a fe-
male employee of the Bridge, House restaurant on
Capilano Road in North Vancouver in July 1992.

During that time Snow had also held a woman captive
for several days in a makeshif( camp at the corner of the
Upper Levels Highway and Westview Drive in North
Vancouver.

He was tracked by police when he took the woman,
along wiih a second female hostage, to the Mount
Seymour area.

The two murder charges stem from the killing of fan
and Nancy Blackbarn, whose bodies were found in a car
outside theis Teronto home,
