social drama by Bernard Marie
Koltes. ;

vision, of optimism. It is a celebra-

tion of the ability of the human
spirit to overcome insurmountable
difficulties rather than focusing or
the difficulties themselves. ...
Theatre can create a bridge to the
past and make connections be-
tween our present different
realities, and thus give us a sense
of belonging to a bigger picture,”
Cox said in announcing the

Douglas Coilege planning tribute

THE SEARCH is on for former
Douglas College theatre students
from the North Shore.

The college is planning a tribute
to retiring music instructor Henry
Waack. A musical production,
called Try to Remember — a
Musical Memoir — plus selected
scenes from plays performed be-

tween 1983 and 1993,will run May
14-15 at the College's New
Westminster campus.

Organizers are looking for
former cast members of the col-
fege's 1983 production of The
