Question: 1 was injured at work and have filed a claim with the Worker's Compensation Board «WCB). ['m unhappy with the way my case is being handled. Where can 1 get some help and advice? Answer: Dealing with 4 bureau- cratic system and an injury on top World Vision is operational despite dangers WORLD VISION will continue with its $5.9 million relief pro- gram based in Baidoa, a town 255 kilometres northwest of embattled Mogadishu, despite unexpected delays in food delivery due to gunfite and looting. The international Christian hu- manitazian relief and development agency recently set up a feeding centre at Bur Hakaba, an area with about 60,000 people that is almost entirely neglected by aid agencies, 66 kilometres southeast of Baidoa. World Vision is operating three other feeding camps in the region, and plans to open Il more to provide assistance to the people of several hundred . villages in the area. These camps will stem the flow of starving people into the already overburdened city of Baidoa. The feeding centres will serve 25,000 children with meals of Unimix, a nutritional porridge which has little resale value and is‘ less susceptible to looting. . Later they will provide dry food rations for up to 25,000 families. An agricultural program will follow, providing seeds and tools for 25,000 farmers, to help them become self-reliant once again. World Vision has not experi- enced any looting thus far, say officiats. ‘“‘How to accomplish widespread food distribution in a lawless environment is not readily apparent,’’ says Leland Bren- neman, World Vision Somaiia's program director. ‘‘But without a major and sustained: relief in- tervention, thousands and thou- sands will perish.’ Those wishing to make a dona- tion or requesting more informa- tion may contact Robert Luxton, World Vision area manager, at 324-6368.
