The North Vancouver CEC-S is one of 47 centres that will be operating across B.C. and Yukon this sum- mer. Last year the CEC-S’s in B.C. received over 24,000 job vacancies from employers and _ processed over 46,000 student registrations. Barbara Chang, the super- visor of the local CEC-S will be assisted by five student placement officers. They will be visiting local employers to discuss their summer employ- ment needs and keep them in- formed of the availability of student workers. Students are encouraged to drop by the CEC-S and meet with the staff to discuss sum- mer employment. Last year, the North Van- couver CEC-S made over 950 placements. This was a 25% increase in placements over 1982. Chang states, “we hope that we can build upon the credibility established in the community and do as well or better this year for students.”’ Students should register in person at 1217 Lonsdale Avenue, North Vancouver.
