I a MT BT ae TO Al? - Wednesday, December 3, 1980 - North Shore News na community roundup WV honors citizen advisers By NOEL WRIGHT It was one big family party — with over 200 members of the family sitting down to table together. The family in question was the municipality of West Vancouver. The occasion: Friday night’s annual civic dinner to say “thank you” to the citizens who serve on the 15 advisory committees, boards and commissions which provide council with. community input on virtual- ly every matter that comes before it during the course of the year. The atmosphere throughout was warm, hap- py and lighthearted. It might have been a king-size pre- Christmas party in a private home — terminating ap- propriately, with dancing. Mayor Derrick Hum- phreys opened the ceremonial portion of the evening at the Gleneagles Clubhouse by introducing the three special guests — Provincial Court Judge R. Grandison, Mrs. M. Moscovitch (head of the West Van SPCA) and Dr. E. McBean (head of the North Shore Health Unit). Also present among the guests, and introduced by the mayor, were the West Van school board trustees and senior school district of- ficials. The aldermen then took over the main business of the gathering — the citations to the advisory bodies.
