THE annual provincial
seat belt awareness and
enforcement campaign
was launched earlier
‘this month by Attorney
General Ujjal Dosanjh.

“Overall, the vast majority
of British Columbians wear
seat belts,” said Dosanjh.
“However, there's still room
for improvement. We are
reminding motorists that
every one percent imerease in
the seat-belt-weariag rate
saves more lives and reduces
injuries.”

DESPITE the disappearance of photo radar in Ontario, 8.C. drivers continue to
fall under the watchful eye of the unblinking lens. The above photo was taken
on East Keith Road in North Vancouver. According to statistics from the period
August 27 to September 2, 58,171 venicles were monitored in the Lower
Mainland. Of those, 4,543 were photographed by the automatic cameras. |
