monthly cducation committee
meetings open to the public.

The committee reviewed | its
interactions and workings over the
past year and although members
are pleased with results so far, they
are frustrated and disappointed
with the lack of public turnout at
mectings.

The group discussed possible
ways to increase audience - atten-
dance and participation from the
organizations which represent it:
parents, teachers, district staff and
administrators.

Trustee Jean Ferguson said the
committee had worked well as an
educator of the school board and
senior staff.

She would like to see its role
expanded to include items which
pertain to activities going on at dis-
trict schools and functions.
