known for its ferry terminal that pro-
vides service to the Sunshine Coast
and the islands, Both tourists and
commuters travel through Horseshoe
Bay en route to the ferries.

pedestrian neighborhood becatse
mast streets are anly two blocks
long,” said Wiser.

To many, Horseshoe Bay is also
known for its restaurants; nacurally,
the focus is on seafood. In addition,
Sewell’s Marina, owned by a third
generation Horseshoe Bay family,
offers boat rentals and moorage.

A perfect spot to get into a boat
and go fishing or just sightsce around
Howe Sound.

There's no better cure for a hot day
and bored kids than a visit to the
water park and the beach at
Horseshoe Bay.

At nearby Whycecliff Marine
Park, there is a playground, picnic
area and many opportunities to
watch scuba divers explore the
depths. For a more rugged ramble,
check our the lesser known area
located above the parking foc.

Seaview Walk, which heads west
from Marine Drive at Gleneagles
Golf Course, is very popular.

For a lhour circuit, park near

the Eagle Ridge exit eff the Upper |

Levels Highway and get onto the
westerly end of the Baden Powell
‘Trail.

Ten minutes gets you to a pond
and trail intersection from where you
can take the more strenuous walk up
to Cypress Park or go left down the
trail to the highway.

Nip across and continue down to
Marine Drive and then back up
through che play fields to hook up
with the rest of Seaview Walk. Ac the
end, return to your car via local
streets.

Mothers of young children have
tried ro swear this writer to secrecy,
bur there are a number of idyllic little
beaches nestled along the waterfront
that are wonderful for paddling and
exploration.
