Arched brows make comeback

THE ARCH is back.

Gone are the thick bushy
eyebrows made popular by Brooke
Shields.

As seen on the runways of Paris
and New York this year, the con-
temporary face is polished with
softly blended neutral makeup
colors and well-defined arched
eyebrows.

Cathie Bacchus, associate mar-
keting manager for Maybelline
cosmetics, says, ‘‘While natural

depilatory use: Make sure skin is
clean and free of all lotions,

time, waxing is the perfect solu-
tion. It is one of the oldest known

way. Use a brow comb to sweep
hairs up; this opens up the eye
area and creates an alert look.

For best results, use tweezers
with a slanted tip.

For emphasis, fill brows with
either a brow pencil or powder
shadow applied with a brush. Try
these tips for expressive brows:
© Apply pencil where there are
gaps, using short upward strokes
and working toward the outer
corner. Follow by blending with
fingers and brushing brows up-
ward.
© Using a powder shadow that
matches the natural color of your
brows, and a short thin brush,
lightly apply powder tc brows
with short strokes. Brush brows
upward to distribute powder even-
ly. Use a fight hand with shadow
or you'll wind up with a heavy
foreboding look.
