Centennial won the overail championship, which includes div- ing and synchronized swimming, by a 263-211 score over Sentinel. The Spartans picked up firsts in three relays: Girls’ “‘A’’ 400-metre freestyle with Catherine and Caroline Schier, Cori Creed and Litze Anderson; Boys’ ‘‘A’’ 200- metres medley with Paul Hughs, Ken McCormack, Rob Price, An- drew Urschitz; and Girls’ “A" 200-metres mixed medley with Price, Hughs, Creed and Catherine Schier. Paul Hughs, a Grade 12 transfer from Toronto, also won a third gold medal in the 200-metre indi- vidual medley. Catherine Schier, a Grade 10 student, also won the 100-metre butterfly. Catherine and her twin sister Caroline, along with Creed and Anderson, added a second place in the Girls’ ‘‘A’’ 200-metres freestyle relay while Price, McCormack, Urschitz and Bob Bing were run- ners-up in the Boys’ ‘‘A'’ 200- metre freestyle. Urschitz and Mc- Cormack teamed with Caroline Schier and Sally Tanaka for a silver in the 200-metre mixed medley relay. Alexandra Anglin of Hillside was the only other North Shore swimmer with a gold medal. She beat Claire Matthews of West Vancouver in the ‘tA’? 100-metre breaststroke, reversing their one- two finish at the North Shore mect. Anglin, Maria Hubinette, James Arthur and Kristian VonFerson were third in the ‘tA’? 200-metre . mixed relay. Handsworth, which finished ninth in the swimming totals with 68, had a second place in the Boys’ “A" freestyle relay with Scott Clark, Mike Dempsey, Tom Nevin, and Scott Tasaka and third in the Boys’ *‘B’’ medley relay with Nevin, Tasaka, Andrew Wilson and Carey Wortman. Sabina Thompson of Balmoral and Michelle Woods of Seycove had seconds in the ‘'B’’ 100-metre freestyle and ‘‘A’’ 200-metre indi- vidual medley respectively.
