NEWS photo Mike Wakefletd NORTH SHORE GIRLS Soccer tourney slated THE NEWLY formed North Shore Girls’ Soccer Club is hosting an all-girls soccer tournament over the Thanksgiving Weekend. Ages of the teams will be from nine to 14 years old, with both compeétitive and recreation levels, Tournament play will be held at Loutet Park, Myrtle Park, Roche Point Park, and Windsor Second- ary and Sutherland Secondary fields all Thanksgiving weekend. The former clubs of United, McSween, Lynn Valley and Mount Seymour joined their girls under one organization last year, and the North Shore Girls Club is celebrating its first year after a full season, explained tournament or- ganizer Bernice Coleman. Done to try and curve the falling enrolment and to promote more competitive and balanced teams, the move has been a success, with the club now repcrting that its enrolment has increased. But with the growing number of teams, the club is looking for vol- unteers who are willing to commit two hours Saturday afternoon and 1% hours any weekday evening to share their experiences in soccer with an all-girls’ soccer team.
