NORTH SHORE
residents are keeping
their eyes on a pair of
mountain-based stories
with a mixture of in-
terest and trepidation.

Both stories involve ski
hills, both involve the future
of popular Lower Mainland
recreational facilities and
the fate of both now rests in
the hands fo the provincial
government,

But the similarities end
there - it is with a growing
sense of alarm that residents
are looking at Grouse Moun-
tain Resorts Ltd.'s proposal
to log 160 acres.

And it is with growing
uncertainty that they are
beginning to watch Cypress
Park, one of the provincial
government's assets that is

on the sales block.
