SKI FITNESS PROGRAM... The
West Vancouver Parks and Recre-
ation Department is offering a
10-week ski fitness. program

designed to get you in shape for.

an injury-free ski. -season.’ The
program will utilize ski training
equipment specific to skiing that
will work on: improving car-
diovascular fitness as well as
strength, coordination, balance
and flexibility. The course meets
every Thursday night’ (Oct. 7
through Dec. 9) from 7:45 to 9
p.m.-at the West Vancouver recre-

ation centre, 780 22nd St., West |

Vancouver. The cost is $48 for
fitness passholders, and $55 for.

non-passholders. A drop-in’ cost

SEYMOUR SALMON CYCLE
AND OPEN HOUSE... The
Seymour Salmon Cycle and Open
House that was scheduled for
Sunday, Sept. 26 was postponed
due. to cougar sightings in the
Seymour Demonstration Forest.
The new event date is Saturday,
Oct. 9, The Seymour Salmon cycle
is a 22-kilometre family cycling
event Over a rolling paved road in
the. Seymour Demonstration
Forest (located at the north end of
Lillooet Road in North Van-
couver), Also included in the day’s

events are guided tours of the fish:

hatchery (free shuttle buses to the
hatchery will run between 10 a.m.
and 4 p.m. from the Rice Lake
parking lot); and a salmon’ and
hotdog barbecue.
