selected ‘Daphne Marlatz as
writer-in-residence for the
year 2000.

During the first two weeks of
February, the West Coast poet and
novelist will bz available for one-on-
one consultation to members, or
anyone wishing to become a mem-

ber, of the Capilano Press Society.

been published at Capilano College
by the Capilano Press Society since
1972.

The magazine’s mandate is to
encourage and publish innovative
poetry, fiction, drama and work in

the visual media that have an
emphasis on original rather than
critical work.

Marlatt’s mest recent title is
Readings from the Labyrinth
(NeWer Press, 1998), a colicction
of essays, letters and journal entries
over 15 years.

Her novel, Taken, appeared from
House of Anansi in 1996, 2ad her

previous novel, Ana historic (origi-
nally published by Coach House
Press, 19838), was reissued by Anansi
in 1997.

Her poetry titles include Salvage
