The award honours the architectural, and) community service commiunent of Barbara Dalrymple and will be awarded toa B.C. architect for his or her outstanding contribution to a community er neighbour- hood. Barbara Dalrymple, a prominent Vancouver archi- tect, died of cancer in 1996, at the age of 45. Afixing her career with community service, Dalrymple helped create the Berwick Centre for Children with Disabilities at the Univers’ P British Columbia while she was with the architectural firm of Thompson Berwick Pratt. In addition, she was a pop- ular mentor at UBC's School of Architecture, served on the Board of Directors of the Community Living Society and was a strong supporter of Arts Umbreila. The Dairymple Award is open te any architect who is an active or retired member of the Architectural Institute of British Columbia. Nominations must be made by February 14. The Barbara Dalrymple wanie Memorial Award will be pre- sented to the successful nomi- nee at the AIBC Awards Ceremony on Apri! 14. In addition to the Dalrymple award, the AIBC will also pre- sent this year's Lieutenant Governor’s Medals in Architecture and the AIBC Innovation Awards.
