MY hope is that the
people of this
province will hold
their noses on
Tuesday and vote for
whatever candidate
stands the best chance
of beating the NDP.

On the North Shore that
means getting rid of David
Schreck.

The person mos. likely to
do that is. Liberal Katherine
Whittred. 1 prefer the B.C.
Reform Party but if 1 lived in
North Vancouver-Lonsdale |
would vote Liberal.

It is quite true that in many
tidings a vote for Reform — or
for the fringe parties — is a
vote for Glen Clark. something
those Reform defectors in Port
Coquitlam have highlighted.
As the non-political National
Citizens Coalition (NCC) has
put it, it is also a vote for tyran-
ny.

Sad to say,. tyranny doesn’t
seem to be as important as

. things tike new bridges or new

schools or whether Glen Clark
is shovelling money off the
oack of a truck.

Clark is right about one

_ thing, though. This election

puts B.C. at the crossroads.
Another four years of him and
we may have to leave the
province to the multicults and
the Indians.

worked out without reference
to us simple folk.

the Indians will pay taxes like

They will pay no real prop-
erty taxes, no taxes on capital
and wealth. and none on social
services and fuel. Nor will
their corporations and forest
resources be taxed. But they
will continue to be funded by
the rest of us,

Whites in the Nisga‘a area
will pay taxes, of course.
Taxation without representa-
tion.

In this payout we are talk-
ing, in sum, nol about millions
of dollars but billions. Yet the
Indian population of B.C. is
barely 94,000.

If Grubel’s analysis could
be read today by everyone, all
of Clark's yacking and fack-
ing on TV would count for
nothing, The NDP would be
consigned to the dusthin of his-
tory.

Clark's dittohead.

NDP's anti-free speech tricks.

On Bill 28. which restricts
political advertising by non-
party groups to $5,000,
Schreck said he had met no
one who wanted to spend more
than that. So it was OK.

that Bill 33 doesn’t limit free-
dom of speech!

Wasn't Collins still writing
his column? he asked. Yes, but
at the cost to this newspaper of
farge legal fees and the possi-
bility of a fine of up to
$100,000 under legislation
cheered on by Schreck, the
Canadian Jewish Congress,
and other ethnic groups.

And we haven't even men-
tioned Bill 32, which gives the
NDP’s Thought Police the
right to stick their noses into
business offices and make
complaints on behalf of people
who have made no complaints.

You take the cake, Schreck.
