North Vancouver cesident Sharon Brain was one of six writers recog- nized in the inaugral Festival Writing Competition at the B.C. Festival of the Arts. Brain’s Willow Song earned her an honorable mention in the coa- test, which was put on by The Fedération of British Columbia Writers. There were three winners and three honorable mentions in the competition, which attracted more than one thousand entries. From those, a jury of three selected 20 delegates to attend the B.C. Festival of the Arts in Campbell River where the six win- ners were chosen. The Seymour Art Gailery has produced an entire summer's cal- endar of arts programs for students 7-17 years old. There will be workshops in the- atre, music literature and visual and textile arts or dance.
