option. In regions where it is com-
monly grown the fruit is made
into jelly, marmalade (or cotog-
nate in Italy) and chutney. Apple
sauce takes on a new Flavor when
one quince is added for each two
or three apples used.

The North Shore is not noted .
for fruit growing because of the
damp climate. [f you are tired of
spraying and pruning your fruit
trees only to lose the crop to poor
weather, disease or.the resident
raccoons and squirrels, you might

almost totally disease free, do not

four years growing time could
give you a new and interesting
