MaILBox ‘Bring bike back’ OPEN LETTER TO NORGATE PARENTS Did your child just bring home a ted 12-speed mountain bike he “‘found’’? Or was it ‘tlent™> to him by a friend? Because if your family has acquired this bike it was stolen from my son. When my son’s old bike was stolen he was forced to walk to school for months until he was able to save enough from his North Shore News paper routes and his flyer route. He was so proud when he was able to finally buy one. He’s only had the bike for three months. And, after Christmas, he doesn't have any money left, so he Cabbies thanked Dear Editor: As the holiday cheer dies down and the cards of thanks are sent, there usually are some who are forgotten. So I would like to per- sonally express my thanks to all the taxi drivers — rarely are they awarded for their important role in keeping drunk drivers at a mini- mum. I only had the opportunity to use a taxi three times over the holidays, but I would like to commend those drivers for their helpfulness and friendly per- sonalities. It was a rea! pleasure to do business with thein. Karen Cadlick North Vancouver has to start saving all over again. It’s not fair. He’s an only child with a single parent mom. He has to work and save for all his extras — and then someone goes and Steals it. Yes, I've reported it to the Police. We have the serial number, too, but chances of the bike show- ing up are negligible. I'm furious. Furious that my son is gullible enough to think that people in our neighborhood don’t steal. Furious that someone tres- passed on my property and walked up to my front door and stole the bike. It’s scary, too. Now when it’s dark out I'll be looking to see if there are shadows lurking in the dark by my front door. Please, no questions asked, just return the bike to my son. He doesn’t deserve to be victimized and we certainly can't afford it. Artene S. King North Vancouver E GREAT CAPILANO RIVER DUCK RACE RS oY
