scrapped under restraint in 1983 —— is on the way back,
but with a twist: the (ests are to be done in’ private
garages approved by the government. No cost structure

Should test be re- introduced?

Automobile Association have welcomed the move, saying
that anything fo reduce accidents is a benefit to all drivers
in this time of a spiralling provincial accident rate. This
week, Inquiring Reporter asks people what they think of
these re-introduced mandatory vehicle tests.

diture that is difficult to justify...
I’m concerned that we're getting
into.a muddy field,” Finlay told

“West Vancouver is not inter-
ested in industrial development.
We're only interested in the
tourism aspect...and getting the
maximum bang for our buck....
We could be saddled year after
year with a budget item, of which
the effect for West Vancouver is
minimal," he added.
