Fashion First students graduate from NV fashion school NORTH VANCOUVER’S Carmen School of Fashion recently completed its first session of classes, graduating 50 students with modelling and TV acting credentials. “YT think it’s phenomenal to put that many people through in such a short time without any business experience," enrolment manager Ted Johnston explained of model Carmen Espejo, 20, who opened the North Vancouver school in September. Now affiliated with the Eileen Ford Modelling Agency in the United States, the Carmen School of Fashion is slated to co-sponsor the West Coast Super Model Pageant — a contest for professional models only ~ in Vancouver in the spring. With a complement of six instructors —~ including Espejo — the school teaches 15- to 18-year-olds the fundamentals of modelling and acting for television. Starting soon wiil be a host of special one-day seminars designed specifically for women in business and focussing on the importance of ‘ projecting an image.
