CAPILANO COLLEGE recently
announced the closure of its
Aquaculture Resource Centre at
the Sechelt Campus.

The centre was closed March 31
pending a decision on the renewal
of provincial funding by the
Ministry of Agriculture and Fish-
eries.

The funding to March 3! had
been provided by the Ministry of
Advanced Education and Job
Training, but the college was told
that future grants, if available, will
come from the provincial Ministry
of Agriculture and Fisheries.

Since opening in the fall of 1985,
the resource centre has served the
aquaculture industry as a major
source of information and as a
vehicle for technological transfer.

In the interim aquaculture in-
formation may be obtained by
calling the provincial aquaculture
coordinator in Victoria at 356-
1600.
