Indonesian pizzazz comes to N. Van restaurant

utmost light on foods indigenous
to B.C. and cuisine peculiar to the
West Coast.

The new International Plaza res-
taurant officially opened Feb. 2
and features such famed B.C.
products as Saltspring Island Jamb,

Aldergrove duckling, Douglas
Lake beef filet and Galiano Island
eggs.

In addition to the food offered,
Windows features a Taster’s Cor-
ner appetizer section that serves
such items as Tuna Tartare, Indian
Candy and Chive Crepe for those

who prefer smaller portions.

The concept of the restaurant,
according to Chow, ‘‘is to define
B.C. cuisine."*

taurant’s menu.

Owner Lilly Darmadi offers
such Far East favorites as Gado-
Gado (Indonesian salad with spicy
peanut sauce, $3.50) and chicken
or beef Satay ($5.50), six skewers
of meat grilled over charcoal and,
again, covered with delicious pea-
nut sauce.
