Offer expires March 31, 1987 NV’S JOHN McLACHLAN NORTH VANCOUVER | singer/songwriter John McLachlan will appear with three-piece band Cana- dian Sky March 15 at the Vancouver East Cultural Centre in Vancouver. A native of North Vancouver, much = of McLachlan’s material is based on his own experiences of living on the West Coast and summers spent on Hornby Island. Subtle influences from musie greats such as Stan Rogers and Woody Guthrie are found in his music and McLachlan’s lyrics attempt to capture the real Mc singer to give concert world. Stories of hand troller fishermen in the depths of the Depression, a fugitive along the coast or a mining town of 90 years ago typify McLachlan’s songs. Accompanied by band Canadian Sky, McLachlan has recorded two albums and is a popular performer at folk festivals, lounges and other folk music events.
