After serious financial pro-
blems that resulted in the
lay-off of a large part of the
staff, Presentation House has
a new general manager, a
group of new, young staffers
and new priorities.

New manager Myra Davis
says that for Presentation
House (which contains a
theatre, gallery and museum)
financial realities have made
it impossible to continue as
an autonomous artistic cen-
tre, Creating and producing
their own work. She feels it is
time for PH to be what it was
originally planned to be, a
community cultural centre.

The first step has been the
formation of a coaliuon of
community theatre groups,
including players from North
Van, West Van, and
Capilano College. These
groups have already planned
an entire season, starting in
the fall.

The PH staff will not be
directly involved in these pro-
ductions. They will, rather,
provide and operate the
facility for them, and offer
any help and advice desired.

show and then looking for
