North Vancouver
RCMP are warning
residents who are storing
their Christmas trees out-

side that there are
Christmas tree thieves
prowling.

BETWEEN $7,000 and
$10,000 damage was done
to a portable classroom at
Upper Lynn last weekend.

School officials found
the portable had been
heavily damaged — and
that two fire extinguishers
were stolen — when they
arrived at work Monday
morning.

ing 85 feet of open ground
to get to it.

According to police, the
portable was ransacked,
several small fires were lit

and graffiti and
obscenities were spray-
painted on the inside of
the portable.

ty to form a Summerfest ‘84
committee got full support
from City. groups Monday
night.

Spokesmen for the North
Vancouver Chamber of
Commerce, the Lonsdale
Quay development, the Com-
munity Arts Council, Presen-
tation House, and the North
Vancouver Recreation Com-
mission said they would ap-
point representatives on the
committee.

Ald. Ralph Hall said the
committee would need a
**new name’’ to ‘‘include all
interests and people
involved.”’

He said it should be an
‘“‘umbrella group’’ represen-
ting ‘‘all the talent in North
Vancouver City.”’
