Glenmore elementary and Pauline Johnson won the boys and girls West Van elementary schools basketball championships recently. In the boys final, last year's finalists, Glenmore and West Bay matched up again with Glenmore taking the championship with a 21- 20 win, in what could be revenge from the year before when West Bay won out, also by a one point margin. West Van won the round rebin playoff against Hastings and North Delta with a 3 win and ! loss record. The series was a home and home game with each team. The first game was at Hastings where West Van won 6-3. They then went into a home and away series with North Delta losing one 8-6 and winning &-6 in excellent games. The question of the PCAHA champion came down to the last minute of the final game at West Van against Hastings. Both teams came into the xame with 2 wins and ! loss. Hastings led 2-0 nearing the end of the first penod when West Van turned it on and scored 2 goals in 8 seconds.
