Build a wal OX around isolationist NIMBYs Dear Editor: 1 believe that the vast majority of the elitist residents of West: Vancouver somehow either did not have a childhood or have reached the stage of conveniently forgetting that they were once children and young people themselves (no matter what their ages are now). As far as being NIMBYs is concerned, these people take the cake. J cannot contain my icelings any Jonger and have to have my say. It seems that every single idea that is floated in and around West Vancouver these days for any change or improvement is met ‘with hostile, aggressive resistance even betore the merits are discussed. I say: Upgrade the fercy terminal in Horseshoe Bay for the benefit of the whale Vancouver and North Shore area, After all, the ferries were there long before most of you made your money that allowed you to buy there. Who cares what you think anyway — I pay my tax dollars also — and you don't care what we think. Allow the bontires back onto the beaches and close your windows so that vou will not get the small ammount of smoke that might come vour way, The arrogance of those who would say that West Vancouver children should rather play on fields in North Vancouver tells me that chil- dren and people with children are not welcome in West Van — it seems dogs are more accept able, Close the Lions Gate Bridge for one month so that the upgrade can be done once and for all --- surely a hetle inconvenience will not hurt, perhaps it will teach a lesson.
