Driving charge

A WEST Vancouver man was recently charged with dan-
gerous driving causing death in connection with a woman’s
drowning last November in False Creek.

Peter Kains was also charged with refusing to provide a
breath sample.

’The dead woman, Dale Mearns, 50, of Vancouver, was a
passenger in a car at the time of the drowning.

Kains is slated to appear in Vancouver provincial court
on Oct. 3 to fix a date for court proceedings.

Lottery robbery

WEST VANCOUVER Police are seeking public help to
identify a man who robbed the Park Royal South Lottery
Centre on Sept. 19. ;

The man robbed a clerk and ran off with a large amount
of cash, .

The police are looking for 3 white male, about 25 years
old, 5°8’ tall, 165 to 170 pounds, with shoulder-length light
brown or blond hair. The man was wearing a long: sleeved
black sweatshirt with a-logo on.the chest, blue jeans and
wrap-around sunglasses. Call 925-7300 with information.
