A FEW years ago I did some columns on the Marxist-
Lesbian News, otherwise known as Kinesis, a Vancouver
Status of Women rag thai’, full of left-wing and lesbian
rot and is funded by your tax dollars.

Kinesis stil! pollutes the social
environment, for Ottawa con-
tinues to pour money into the Na-
tional Action Committee on the
Status of Women, even though
there have been some cuts in

gvants.

(The NAC now ciaims to be
raising about half of its budget on
its own, but even if that is true
there’s no reason it should get the
rest from us.)

Today, Brian Mulroney is
scheduled to announce large
reductions in federal spending.
Will he sever NAC’s lifeline?

Don’t hold your breath. But he
should, because the organization
faisely claims to represent up to
four million Canadian women and
is about as left-wing as it can be
without putting the outdatcd
hammer and sickle o:: its let-
terheads.

NAC president Judy Rebick was
once a Communist party organizer
and as recentiy as 1990 she ad-
dressed a Canadian Communist
party convention in Torento,
praising the comrades for their
work with the NAC.

But Rebick now supports the
NDP.

As she told the Toronto Star
two years ago:

“*We (the commies) did same
really good work, but I learned
over time that to change the worid
you have 1o work more in the
mainstream.”

To het, “‘capitalisrn is fun-
damentally unjust.’’

The politically correct media are
not interested in exposing the
NAC. They are too busy chasing
“white supremacists’ and other
devil folk.

They should talk to Gwen Lan-
dolt of REAL Women, a fami-
ly-oriented group that has 45,000
members and keeps track of what
the Rebick. bunch is doing.

Mrs. Landolt points out that
Nancy Mcdonald, who was on the
Central Executive Committee of
the Communist Party of Canada,
wrote this in the World Marxist
Review.

NAC and are now its policies.”*

NAC forward like a well-oiled
juggernaut towards its obiective of

$2,454,574 in grants over the past
five years, which doesn’t include
departmental funding.

The Status of Women Co-or-

dination Office budget for 1991-
92 was $3.98 million. This year it
is $10.24 million, Cuts, Brian?
Cuts?

Commie claptrap abounds in
the NAC’s publications. Here are
some examples:

“Economic restructuring is be-
ing carried out on the backs of
women, workers, minorities and
the poor.”’

“We are for international soli-
darity and world peace.’”

**Ali women face inequality.’”
(What, even Justice Minister Kim
Campbell?)

The NAC opposes property
tights and is anti-NATO.

Is the NAC entirely left-wing?
And why does Ottawa waste
money on it (especially when one
of its main pastimes is bashing the
Tories}? Also, what is its prime
purpose?

The answer to the first question
is No, because no large organiza-
tion is ever entirely anything and
there are always a lot of dupes
around. But it is the left-wing
that steers the ship.

The Torics throw money at the
NAC because they have been
fooled isto believing that Rebick
& Co. really do represent millions
of Canadian women.

The same applies to the Liber-
als, who created this monster in
the first place.

Politicai fashion being what it
is, all three main parties echo
Rebick’s bilge.

Are women’s issues the prime
purpose of the NAC? Not accord-
ing to Mrs. Landolt.

At public expense.

Women and acts as a sort of NAC
cheerleader. But we need neither
her nor her money-wasting
ministry.

From al! the propaganda that
grows in the NAC garden and in
the media you would think the
country is in a tizz about women’s
issues. But it isn’t.

After the recent referendum,
Maclean’s magazine published a
Decima poll showing that those
who voted No because of
women’s issues couldn’t even be
measured. They rated a big zero.

This even though Rebick had
buzzed about from one end of
Canada to the other, trying to
round up support.

The politicians’ iack of spine is
also explained by fear, of course.
