Gallery exhibit displays Ferrati photos

A PHOTO ENHIBIT portraying
domestic violence by award-winn-
ing New York photographer Don-
na Ferrato opens today at Pres-
entation House Gallery.

Ferrato has been granted access
to hospital emergency rooms,
support and therapy groups,
women's shelters to photograph
the victims of family violence.

The project is part of a larger
expose on domestic violence en-
titled, Voices Against Violence.

Ferrato will discuss her decade-
long work ata panel discussion on
violence against women on April
11 (2 p.m.).

Other speakers include
Ward-Hall. director of Emily
Murphy Transition House and
moderator actor Teresa Saldana.

photographs by Chicago artist

Carol

Holly Roberts will accompany the

Voices Against Violence).

Roberts’ images of solitary
male, female and animal figures
address the complexities of human
emouons and their consequences
for interpersonal relationships.

Roberts will give a free talk
about her work on April 3 at
Emily Carr College of Art and
Design. On April 4 and 5, she will
conduct a weekend workshop on
approaches to painting
