Children have the oppor- tunity to make screen prints and to participate in reading circles put on by Read Canada, a group dedicated to the promotion of lit- eracy, while David Tarrant of CBC-TV’s “Canadian Gardener’ hosts a gardening workshop for adults. The People. Plants & Homes Program is a unique urban gardening program siarted by B.C. Housing in 1977, to en- courage pride of occupancy among tenants of social housing in many parts of the province. The program offers gardening workshops, advice and plant sup- plies to B.C. Housing tenants. Some of the program’s most avid gardeners are senior citizens.
