Police dog tracks mannequin

WEST VANCOUVER Police dog
Razz and his handler were called
in Dec. 17 to assist North Van-
couver RCMP after thieves
smashed the window of a 1300-
block Marine Drive sporting
goods store at approximately I
a.m. and made off with a manne-
quin.

Razz tracked from the scene of
the crime and located one of the

dummy’s hands in a back lane.
The dog continued south to a
dead-end street and found an arm.
Further on, Razz Jocated an arm
and a hand.

The mangled mannequin, worth
an estimated $1,500, was wearing
an $80 ski jacket when it disap-
peared.

The police investigation into the
theft continues.

wins $10,000

A 33 INSTANT lottery ticket in-
vestment: recently turned into a
$10,000 win for a North Van-
couver woman.

“Originally 1 bought three tn-
stants, put them in my purse and
forgot about them,"’ Terry Filip-
pone said.

The next day the mother of two
found the lottery tickets, scratched
them and won $5.

““E got five more tickets and
won $7," she added.

With the third prize of $7. she
purchased seven more Instant lot-
tery tickets and then won $10,000.

Filippone and her husband,
Jim, have made plans for a trip to
Reno. They will put some of the
prize money into a holiday fund
for nest year.

Meanwhile, Calvin Everett, also
of North Vancouver, was as lucky
as Filippone when he scratched an
Aces High Instant ticket and won
$10,000.
