users (people who visited the
library at least twice a month last
year) were sent pledge cards at the
end of January.

The cards were followed up by
telephone appeals for donations on
Feb. 6 and 8.

“We got a very good response,”*
said Glen Boy, campaign coor-
dinator. ‘At least, people's inten-
tions are good."

consider it. Less than a week fol-
lowing the telephone calls, more
than $5,000 had already been ieft
at the library.

Including provincial and
municipal funding, approximately
$3.1 miilion has been raised to
date, leaving over $1.2 million left
to be raised.
