JOIN THE festivities when the
Carol Ships visit the North Shore.

Events will be held at Water-
front Park in North Vancouver on
Friday, Dec. 15 from 7 io 8 p.m.
The Carol Ships are scheduled to
arrive at approximately 7:30 p.m.

North Vancouver City staff will
serve het checelate and cookies
from the North Shore Rescue
Kitchen with donations going to
the North Shore Christmas
Bureau. The North Vancouver Ci-
ty Fire Depariment will also be
there, and Santa will arrive on a
fire engine and hand out candy
canes to the small children.

Children will light) candles to
greet the Carol Ships as they pass.
Art Jones will be master of cere-
monies, and North Vancouver City
Mayor Jack Loucks will welcome
the community.

EVENTS

Carol ships come to N. Shore

Parking is available at the
Pacific Marine Training Institute,
just west of the park.

On Saturday, Dec. 16, evetits are
scheduled at Cates and Panorama
parks from 8 to 9 p.m. The Caro!
Ships are scheduled to arrive at
approximately 8:36 p.m.

There will be bonfires, and the
Seymour Lions Club will be
assisting.

Residents are recommended to
dress warmly for the Friday and
Saturday events, which go ahead

rain or shine. and = bring a
flashlight. Carol sheets will be
provided by the North Shore

News, and North Vancouver bands
and choirs will be in attendance.
Donations of (non-perishable
goods will be accepted for the
Christinas Bureau.

THE MINISTRY of buvironment

These criteria are guidelines
designed to protect drinking water,
fresh water, aquatic hfe, wildlife,
Nivesiock, and water used for ir-
rigation and recreation.

The water quality criteria set out
in the publication, Ambient Water
Quality Criteria for Mercury, will
serve as arefercnee point against
which water resource nuitagers

will be able Ge judge the aecept-
ability of mercary levels anywhere
in British Colusrteis.

They will belp managers make

maintain the quality of the en-
vironment,

A major use of the criteria will

bodies of water throughout BoC.
