TAKE FIVE has a new meaning at
the fifth annual B.C. Home Show
which runs at B.C. Place Stadium,
Feb. 12 to 21.

To celebrate the fifth birthday
of the B.C. Home Show, producer
Tracon Exhibitions has added
something special to exhibits and
features — door prizes awarded
every five minutes throughout the
entire show.

The prizes, mostly supplied by
exhibitors, range from down quilts
to poured concrete, from dog
biscuits to a diamond ring.

Nearly 400 exhibits, using the
entire ground floor and the second
concourse level, occupy 230,000
square feet to display literally
everything for the home and
garden.

A comprehensive selection of
furnishings, equipment and ideas
will be featured,

Do-it-yourselfers can obtain
supplies and advice for all their
projects from knowledgeable
demonstrators in the booths, and
in ‘these special theatres:
Lumberland’s Black and Decker
power tool clinic, the landscape
construction theatre and the do-
it-yourself mini-theatre.

For the fifth year running, the
Greater Vancouver Home Builders
Association, who sponsors the
show, is constructing a dream
home in the stadium, This 2,500
square-foot two-storey home has
three bedroonis, iwo fireplaces and
an innovative curved wall of glass
brick.

The Main Stage B.C. offers a
family enterrainment extravaganza
with music and fashion. The line-
up includes Those Fabulous
Firefighters (and the Calendar
Boys) and Lois Walker with the
Creative Kids Show.

Fashions from B.C. fashion
houses will be presented by the
B.C. Fashion and Needletrades
Association.

The Magic of Cooking, spon-
sored by B.C. Hydro, features chef
Eric Lenz who, aided and abetted
by his magician friend Ollie, will
conjure up some truly magical
dishes.

Safety House of the Vancouver

in the centre supervised by the Girl
Guides of Canada. Shoppers Drug

General admission to the B.C.
Home Show is $5.50, with seniors
paying $4.50 and children, six to
12 years old, paying 75 cents.

The show opens at 10 a.m. on
Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, 4
p.m. on other weekdays. With the
exception of Sunday closings at 7
p.m., the show closes at JN p.m.
daily.
