The Indians gained the title by beating their regular season rivals, Vancouver East, 6-5 in the final game last Sunday at the North Van Rec Centre. Erin Bruce scored the winning goal in the game, but the real hero was goalie Darren Baker, who stopped 32 Vancouver East shots, including 15 in the second period. Baker allowed fewer goals than any other goalie in the championship tour- namefit. Other goals were scored by Bradley Baker (two goals), George Jasper, Dave Lewis, and Dave McAfee. Pe nni IT WAS a good season for the Nor-Westers track and field club this = year, cumulating in the B.C. Track and Field Association Junior Development Championships last weekend. But it locked for a while that the Indians wouldn't even make it to the championship game. Though they won their first match 8-5 over Delta (with Bradley Baker getting three goals), they lost the next game 3-1 to White Rock. The Indians then had to beat Richmond by 11 goals to reach the final, and they did it, winning 12-1. Scoring in the 8-5 win over Delta were Bradley Baker (3 goals), Greg Walker (2 goals), Dave Lewis (2 goals), Erin Bruce and_ Brad Klinksgaard. In the 12-1 slaughter, Bradley Baker again got a hat trick as did .Greg Walker. Other scorers were Dave Lewis (2 goals), Jason Shorter (2 goals), Dave Volberg and John Baker. In other lacrosse news, the North Vancouver Hawks lost 5-4 to the Surrey Rebels in the BCLA Pee Wee Division 6 finals at Killarney Arena Monday.
